Female Filmmaker Friday features Producer, photographer and owner of Elafos Productions, Aliki Saragas-Georgiou.
I've had a multitude of unforgettable experiences that I will always hold dear to my heart, and for which I remain eternally grateful. One of my most cherished moments was the opportunity to open Encounters Film Festival 2017 with my film Strike a Rock, followed by our international premiere at Sheffield DocFest. Similarly, being invited to the IDFAcademy was a dream come true, and the SAFTA nominations for my first two films are still a source of immense pride. Each of these experiences has fueled my passion for filmmaking and reinforced my desire to produce meaningful and impactful stories.
What I love most about being part of the SWIFT community is the sense of camaraderie and family that's consistently present. It's incredible to see women lifting each other up, supporting each other, and opening doors for one another. When I was just starting out, I had the good fortune to receive help and encouragement from countless women in the industry, and I'll always be grateful for their contributions during those early years. Now, it's inspiring to see an entire community of women doing the same for others and making strides toward a more inclusive and supportive film industry.
