I find working on every project so enthralling. It doesn’t take much to remain creative in my field as long as everyone plays their part, of course! As a woman in the creative industry, working with the most inspiring, ravishing, and hardworking women – women who have been great role models for me is my fortune.

The documentary, Beyond the Light Barrier, is my recent visual design and illustrator project. 1950s space-era comics style inspired the illustration. The story is so fantastical that it leaves me feeling shaken. Working with the director & team with such incredible support was an astounding experience. Beyond the Light Barrier is traveling to Toronto and will stream on Amazon in October this year!

Artificial Intelligence has been my most revolutionary experience in changing the industry at such a rapid pace. I’m still discovering how to use it as a ‘co-pilot’ in my work.
I’m a relatively new Swiftie! The supportive community is what I have experienced. To date, the recent @encountersdoc workshop on documentary filmmaking held in Cape Town, Khayelitsha, is my highlight. I have an exciting project in the pipeline, and all I can say is it involves myths, legends & clever robots!

Interesting Fact: On any given project, I have a new muse. However, in real life, my muse is my 2-year-old daughter.

Awards: Beyond the Light Barrier (2023) Encounters / Al Jazeera Best Documentary / Award for the Best African Documentary / Nomination for the Adiaha Award – rewarding excellence in documentary filmmaking by African women. Watch trailer here https://youtu.be/eyyck0yfL6Q
