SWIFT is honoured to welcome the exceptional filmmaker Mmabatho Montsho into our esteemed community. With her profound artistic vision, unwavering activism, and dedication to empowering women, Montsho joins the SWIFT Skills and Mentorship Program to champion the voice of women in the technical realms of filmmaking. Her presence embodies the essence of empowerment. Additionally, the studied director’s influence reaches over one million two hundred and ninety-one thousand, one hundred (1291 100) across her digital platforms.

Montsho's journey began in 2004 as one of the lead characters on 'Generations.' Since then, she has evolved into a globally acclaimed Director, Writer, and Canvas Storyteller. Her portfolio reflects an acute attention to life's intricacies, purpose, and the nuanced behaviours of society. The widespread acclaim of shows like 'Lock Down', rated an impressive 9.5 on IMDb, attests to Montsho's mastery in translating artistry onto the screen, enriching the human experience through compelling storytelling. Her directorial role in the Netflix series 'Blood & Water' season 3 further showcases her intellectual prowess and meticulous approach to her craft, shaping her artwork as a profound reflection of life's essence.

Montsho's impeccable artistic contributions in writing and directing have garnered notable accolades, including the SAFTA for best achievement in writing for 'Emoyeni', and the Best Short Film award at the Worldwide Women's Film Festival in Arizona in 2020 for her short film 'The Award Ceremony’.
